The existing old single storey house was situated on one side of a double block. The house itself was robust but very run down and rather small for a growing family. On the plus side the block had excellent views across a wallum marsh towards the sea.

PQ Architects were commissioned to design a renovation for a large family home which flowed over both blocks and which maximised the opportunities of the site.

The newly created renovation project included the existing house plus additional living areas and fist floor bedrooms which take full advantage of the extensive views and cooling breezes.

From the street the newly renovated house appears as an impressive new home on a choice block. Special mention should be made of the owner who personally worked on the construction and ensured a more than satisfactory new home for his family.
